Join us at the Holiday Inn Select Executive Center for a free, daylong conference offering educational topics of interest to cancer patients, survivors and their caregivers. This day includes guest speaker Chad Crittenden, cancer survivor and contestant in “Survivor Vanuatu” and a luncheon which will feature a combination of personal testimony and musical entertainment by Billy Davis Jr. and Marilyn McCoo of The Fifth Dimension.

How you and your family will be affected by the new laws regarding Medicare in the year 2007.

The Caregiver’s Perspective Ann Williams, MSW, LCSW
This session (open only to caregivers) will provide ways to cope with physical and emotional fatigue, social isolation and a host of other symptoms facing the caregiver.

This session will discuss the effects of cancer treatment on sexual health.

Legal Challenges for the Cancer Patient * Vicki Crochet
Know your rights after being diagnosed with cancer. A cancer diagnosis can impact insurance, employment and other non-treatment areas.

A discussion about the reality of chemobrain: its causes, effects and management.

This session will explore the connection between the healing of the body and the healing of the spirit.

A discussion of this common concern will include skills to distract and control fear.

Nutrition for the Cancer Patient * Catherine M. Champagne, PhD, RD
A discussion of healthy eating guidelines for the patient and survivor that may improve quality of life and survival.
